We identify with Hebrews 6:19 in expressing that we have an Anchor of the Soul which is Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Faith in Him gives us an abiding Hope. We also express that our faith is Anchored in Jesus, our Lord, and His Word.<\/p>\n

    A Brief History of Anchor Baptist Church<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Anchor Baptist Church began in November of 1991. Our original name was Wetmore Road Baptist Church. Wetmore Road Baptist Church started as a mission church of Leon Valley Baptist Church. Bro. Howard Vickery has served as the pastor since the beginning.<\/p>\n

    Over the years we were in different rental locations until moving to our present location in December of 2008.<\/p>\n

    We hope that our friends of years past who knew us by our old name and locations will find their way to our present location, and that God would be honored in bringing new folks. Come see what the Lord has done and continues to do. We give Him all the glory. Great is His Faithfulness.<\/p>\n

    What We Believe…<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

    We believe<\/strong><\/span> in the verbal inspiration and authority of the Scriptures. We believe that the Bible reveals God, the fall of man, the way of salvation, and God\u2019s plan and purpose in the ages.<\/p>\n

    We believe<\/strong><\/span> in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

    We believe<\/strong><\/span> in the deity, virgin birth, substitutionary atonement, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n

    We believe<\/strong><\/span> that salvation is \u201cby grace,\u201d plus nothing and minus nothing. The conditions for salvation are repentance and faith.<\/p>\n

    We believe<\/strong> <\/span>that men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the merit of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Justification establishes an eternal relationship that can never be broken.<\/p>\n

    We believe<\/strong><\/span> in the visible, personal, and premillennial return of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n
